24 Bit Digital Seismograph

While Indonesia is a big country with very high seismic activities, the needed of seismograph is very important to monitor those seismic activities. Nowadays, Indonesia National Agency for Meteorology and Geophysics need more quantity new digital seismograph at some new stations and replace other old and bulk analog seismograph. The 24 bit digital seismograph herein is a first edition designed as a portable, compact and reliable instrument.
1. Introduction
1.1. Overview
Indonesia recently has some earthquake observation stations and telemetry stations, but mostly are analog seismographs. This will become a slowness factor when processing seismic data. The implication to this slowness, an earthquake information that have to inform to public quickly, will hard to achieve. Digital seismograph output, is easier and faster to analyze with computer than the analog one. Thus, to fulfill the requirement of digital seismograph, Research and Development of Indonesia National Agency for Meteorology and Geophysics is engineered a single channel 24 bit digital seismograph. This seismograph is designed as a portable, compact and reliable that will make the device easy to install, move and maintenance.
1.2. Objective
· This project will enhanced BMG’s engineers capability in engineering seismograph that fit to BMG specification.
· To development and engineering an economical, accurate and reliable seismograph, which the components are partly from local Indonesia.

2. Methodology
Methodologies used in this project are:
a. System Development :
· Block diagram compilation
· Advance the block diagram to an electronic schematic diagram.
